Facebook launches beta program for Messenger

Facebook wants to ensure bugs are immediately dealt with and needs your help to do so. Facebook plans to release a “small batch of fixes and new features every month.” Beta testers just need to send a bug report when you come across any issues. Adobe today announced the availability of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 beta for Windows and Mac. Adobe Lightroom is the essential photography workflow application allowing photography enthusiasts and professionals to enhance, organize and share photos. The Lightroom 5 beta offers a free, public preview of new features and tools that will be offered in the final release, expected later this year.

Google introduces handwritten search on tablets and smartphones

Sometimes tablet and smartphone keyboards aren't ideal for quick search so Google has enabled a beta feature called Handwrite. Users can use their fingers to write search terms. A simple and smart idea actually rests on a a numner of technologies like handwriting recognition and search logic. Still in beta (your mileage may vary), it's only a matter of time before Google makes this a standard on compatible devices.

It's available on Google.com from your smartphone or tablet, and is activated in your mobile search settings.It's not always easy to use the keyboard on your phone or tablet, especially when you're on the go. Instead, try Handwrite (beta) on Google.com to write your search terms with your finger rather than typing the words on the keyboard. As you write, your handwritten text converts into words in the search box.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Beta reaches 500,000 downloads

Adobe's Photoshop CS6 Beta, which can be downloaded here, has received half a million downloads. According to Adobe's Cari Gushiken, "Tt’s not often that we provide an advance preview of the next release of Photoshopand we’re grateful for all the support and buzz the beta has received. We’re glad you’re as excited as we are to see all of YOUR requests come to life."
