Bluesky has hit a key milestone in its development, announcing it will now allow world leaders to join the platform. This comes after significant growth for the social network, which recently surpassed five million users.
In the past, Bluesky had reservations about onboarding world leaders. The platform, still in its early stages (launched in February 2023), wanted to ensure it had a robust foundation and moderation tools in place before inviting such high-profile figures. Last May, they even advised users to notify support before inviting prominent individuals.
