Being a fan of all of the flagship cameras makes it painful for me to say that this is an unexciting offering from Canon’s lower end consumer camera into the DSLR game. With Nikon and Sony releasing much more advanced consumer offerings, I often wonder what Canon is going to do to get out of this slump in which they constantly repackage the same camera sensor in a similar body.
Google Glass may be ideal for various situations but not for driving since it acts as a distraction. Navdy, which is available for pre-order at US $319 with shipping, is a HUD (Heads Up Display) that projects navigation, alerts and notifications from your dashboard to your windshield so you don't have take your eyes off the road and thus minimizing the distraction. Navdy also promises touchless gestures a la Kinect in order to navigate or swipe away incoming calls and it includes voice recognition as well. Navdy will work with iOS and Android phones and can also integrate with a car's computer and existing set-up. This potentially game changing alert, navigation and notification HUD is expected to ship early 2015.

We checked out Sony's stunning Alpha A7 full-frame mirrorless camera at their recent dealer show in Toronto. Merging the best aspects of the compact NEX line and the high-end full-fram Alpha line, the A7 is reasonably compact but features a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor and will shoot sensor-cropped images with NEX mount lenses. Sony is coming out with full-frame lenses to complement the Alpha A7. The more expensive A7r has a 36 megapixel full-frame sensor, it is geared towards photographers who print large-format work.
