Disney & Lucasfilm announces release dates for ‘Star Wars Episode IX’ & new ‘Indiana Jones’ movies

It’s going to be a two-year wait for the next main trilogy Star Wars movie and a three-year wait for the upcoming Indiana Jones film. Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm just announced that May 24, 2019 will be the release date for the untitled Star Wars: Episode IX, while Indiana Jones will be hitting theatres on July 10, 2020. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Episode IX closes out the newest Star Wars trilogy. For Indiana Jones, it’s been announced Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg will be coming back for this latest movie. Chris Pratt has been tipped to be coming to the reboot but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

Classic Disney NES games are getting HD remakes for other platforms

Six Nintendo Entertainment System games based on Disney characters are getting a second lease on life. Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, DuckTales and Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (plus sequels for the last two) will be remastered in HD and bundled into a US$20 collection. Developer Digital Eclipse will be bringing The Disney Afternoon Collection to the PC, Sony PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting April 18^th.

The games will get visual improvements alongside two modes: Boss Rush (which lets you fight bosses one after another) and Time Attack. A rewind feature will also be introduced as well as an in-game museum for Disney fans.

Disney & Lucasfilm to bring back ‘Star Wars’ Force Friday this September

It might be many months away but Disney and Lucasfilm want to confirm that Star Wars Force Friday II is happening. This global event celebrates the launch of new products that are inspired by the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi film. The packaging of the products will include leading heroes: Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron. The sale of these toys, collectibles, apparel, books, etc. will start at 12:01 a.m. on September 1^st and will have stores around the world have weekend-long celebrations for all things Star Wars.

Back in 2015, fans all over the world welcomed Force Friday and toys from the new line, including the Sphero BB-8, were revealed via an international livestream unboxing event, which happened over 18 hours, 15 cities, and 12 countries. Details about Force Friday II will be released as the events draw closer so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Disney issues statement on Carrie Fisher’s appearance in future ‘Star Wars’ films

While we know Carrie Fisher has wrapped up filming for Episode VIII, it’s very much up in the air what will happen to our beloved Princess and General Leia.
