Star Wars television has grown from an experiment to a franchise within a franchise. The Mandalorian and its spin-offs, set in the New Republic era, have been the main focus of Disney+ Star Wars originals. But in 2024, Star Wars will release three new series exploring different periods and tones.
Monday, April 10, 2023 at 10:23PM If you've ever wanted to see how different studios take on the Star Wars universe, there will be a new Star Wars: Visions volume. This nine-short anthology series introduces tales from Wallace and Gromit's Aardman studios, Pixar veteran Rodrigo Blaas, Triggerfish, Studio Mir, and more.
While these aren't canonical tales, they give us fun and interesting animation styles and storytelling formats within the Star Wars universe. Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 will drop on Disney+ on May 4 (a.k.a. Star Wars Day).

As the Star Wars celebration happens, we get to hear more about Disney and Lucasfilm's plans for the franchise. One of the latest updates includes three new films coming at an unspecified time. One of the new movies will have Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey. The movie will take place 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, which was the final film in the Skywalker saga and the most recent Star Wars movie and focuses on Rey forming a new Jedi Order. Academy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel and Saving Face) will direct the film.

With the return of The Mandalorian this month, Lucasfilm and Microsoft partnered to give fans a chance to take home some Mandalorian-inspired gear. You can enter ongoing sweepstakes for a limited-edition Xbox Series S and X bundle, complete with a custom Grogu Xbox Controller and hoodie.
