Toronto Police: Please don't test iOS 11's 911 feature, "it works well"

iOS 11 has hit iPhones and iPads all over the world bringing new features and functionality to these Apple devices. One of these features is a security feature where users in potentially dangerous situations like robberies can tap the home button five times to lock the phone and automatically dial 911.

It seems a lot of Torontonians have been testing the feature and it's causing problems for emergency responders.
"It works well!" the Toronto police said, on Twitter while urging users not to test the feature unless, of course, it is an emergency. Dialling 911 without an emergency is considered a felony in some instances so while it is handy to have this feature. It's best not to abuse it.
