Leaked Nokia 2 might be a budget phone with a big battery

HMD Global is steadily building up its Nokia brand and it looks like a budget option might be on its way. Evan Blass just leaked what’s said to be the Nokia 2. And looks-wise it does look like an entry-level option. Those who are averse to bezels will not like this option. But beggars can’t be choosers, right?

Android Authority is speculating October 5 to be the release date, because dates in renders usually match launch time. However, that could change so we’ll keep our eyes out for any announcements. As for specs, we don’t have those yet but if the Nokia 3, which is a budget-friendly option already, expect this to be smaller and with less powerful specs. One thing where the Nokia 2 might shine though is in terms of battery. An FCC certification for the phone claims the battery will be 4,000mAh battery, which would be amazing for a budget phone with a small display. We should find out more about this device soon.

This is what the Surface Mini tablet could’ve looked like before Microsoft cancelled it

There was supposed to be a 7.5-inch Surface Mini tablet coming out back in 2014 but Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop scrapped the idea weeks before it was supposed to launch alongside the Surface Pro 3 that May. But even with the tablet being scrapped, Evan Blass showed us what the Surface Mini could’ve looked like if Microsoft decided to launch it. The image shows the tablet wrapped in a red rubber case with a kick stand.

Specs-wise, the Surface Mini was supposed to have a 7.5-inch screen with a 1,440 x 1,080 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB internal storage, and 1GB of RAM. It was supposed to come in black, red, and blue models. It was designed to run Windows RT and support the Surface Pen. It was being marketed as a notebook replacement of sorts. But as The Verge points out, it might have been best Microsoft cancelled the production of the tablet as they didn’t have much success with Windows RT tablets.

Leak shows the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in ‘Midnight Black’

The image above shows what the Galaxy Note 8 might look like. Reputable leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) just posted the render of the upcoming Samsung phablet on his Twitter account. And we won’t be surprised if that’s what the final product looks like. Blass has been accurately sharing photos of unannounced devices accurately. As you can see, the silhouette is similar to what we see on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and it comes in what Samsung would call “Midnight Black.” We don’t have a look at what the rear might look like though. So, questions on whether it’ll have a dual camera setup at the back and whether the fingerprint sensor is still in the weird spot beside the camera sensor will have to be answered when the phone launches on August 23rd.
