Tesla cars will get Bethesda’s ‘Fallout Shelter’ and the YouTube app

While it is still illegal and dangerous to play games on the massive touchscreen infotainment system of Tesla cars, that isn’t stopping the company from adding more distractions/fun activities to do. Fallout Shelter and the YouTube app are coming to Tesla vehicles. Tesla CEO Elon Musk made the announcement during a live chat with Bethesda Game Studios Director Todd Howard during Geoff Keighley’s E3 Coliseum event. The game will join indie platformer Cuphead on Tesla’s cars. At the event, they also showed off a demo of Beach Buggy Racing 2 where you can use the steering wheel of your car to steer your in-game vehicle. Now, let’s just hope we get far along with self-driving tech that the drivers can actually take advantage of these games. For now, it’s best to leave it to your passenger to play.

Bethesda settles lawsuit with Warner Bros. and Behaviour over ‘Westworld’ game

Bethesda Softworks has settled a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and developer Behaviour Interactive over a Westworld base-building game, which Bethesda alleges was a ripoff of its Fallout Shelter game. The company filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement, breach of contract, and unfair competition back in June 2018. Bethesda released a brief statement claiming they’ve reached an “amicable” agreement, but the company didn’t disclose the terms. The companies will bear the cost of attorney fees and the like and Bethesda dismissed its claims with prejudice, which means the same claims can’t be brought up again. Back in June, Bethesda accused Behaviour of using copyrighted code from Fallout Shelter to develop the Westworld game. That a bug found in the early version of Fallout Shelter, which Behaviour developed with Bethesda, was found in Westworld. But both Warner Bros. and Behaviour disputed this claim, saying the accusations were baseless.

'Fallout Shelter' comes to Android

In case you've missed it, the Fallout 4-inspired mobile game, Fallout Shelter, is finally available on Android. This Bethesda-developed game has you in charge of your own subterranean cave from Vault-Tec. You have to continually expand it so more dwellers can come in and provide these dwellers with jobs and training so they can survive. You also have to fend off any infestations, attacks, and even random fires, while making sure you have enough resources to go around. This is a free-to-play game but it does have an in-game purchase option to buy things like lunchboxes with resources, equipment, and rare dwellers with special abilities.

This game originally launched on iOS back in June and it has netted $5.1 million in its first two weeks, despite it being free to play. Fallout fans should definitely check this out.
