Amazon Prime Video teases 'Fallout' show

Source: Prime Video

In time to celebrate Fallout's 25th anniversary, Amazon Prime Video and Kilter Films shared its first look from its upcoming Fallout series. The photo shows the inside of a just-opened Vault. We see a mysterious figure standing outside and looking at the Vault dwellers in the frame. These dwellers are wearing Vault 33 jumpsuits. Plot details are sparse beyond this teaser image.

Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the creators behind the Westworld reboot, are adapting this video game series and serving as head writers. Todd Howard joins as executive producer, and the series stars Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, and Ella Purnell. Goggins will reportedly play a character "based on the ghouls."

Amazon Studios has a show based on Bethesda's Fallout coming out in the future. The studio said it planned to kick off production later this year. We get a casting update for the video game adaptation. Actor Walton Goggins joins the cast in one of its lead roles. Amazon hasn't revealed what role he'll play, but reports claim he could play a ghoul. In Fallout parlance, this refers to someone who mutated due to radiation exposure from the nuclear war.

The series was announced back in 2020, and it looks like things are finally picking up. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy of Westworld fame are behind the production, with Nolan directing the pilot. Executive producers of the show include Bethesda's Todd Howard, the game director of Fallout 3 and Fallout 4.

The Korean consumer electronics and components giant saw 7.5 of its shares slump early Monday resulting in the loss of $12 billion of its value. Still reeling from last week's jury verdict at the San Jose federal court, that found that Samsung willfully copied Apple's patents and ordered the latter to pay over $1 billion in damages, Samsung now faces some financial consequences for that ruling which it said it will appeal.
