'Dead Space' skin on 'Fortnite' out with Isaac Clarke, exclusive in-game challenges

Source: Epic Games

Fortnite brings more Gaming Legends into the game. And this time, it celebrates the remake of the original Dead Space game with Isaac Clarke introduced into the Fortnite island. Unlike your typical collaboration sets, you'll need to pay US$12 (around CA$16) for the Dead Space bundle. But that gets you the Isaac Clarke skin, two reactive back blings (including his iconic RIG that shows your health meter and a model of the USG Ishimura), a Plasma Cutter pickaxe, and some V-Bucks, too.

The Cutter comes with an emote that you can use to conjure the weapon in the middle of a battle even if you have a different pickaxe equipped. It works similarly to the emotes for Doctor Strange's magic sword or Wolverine's claws. This bundle also gives you the Strange Transmissions quests, which can grant you a total of 1,500 V-Bucks if you complete a few days worth of daily bonus goals.

Epic Games gets sued by Canadian parents claiming 'Fortnite' is too 'addictive'

Source: Epic Games

A Quebec judge is allowing parents to pursue a class-action suit against Epic Games for making Fortnite too "addictive." Quebec Superior Court Justice Sylvain Lussier has authorized a lawsuit originally filed in 2019 against the game developer, alleging Fortnite is so addictive it was causing real-life problems.

The parents of three children who spent thousands of dollars playing the game say it has caused their kids psychological, financial, and physical harm. They claim their kids spent hundreds of dollars on its in-game currency (called V-Bucks), sometimes without their knowledge. They also said the children would have "panic attacks" over Fortnite, with one of the kids frequently playing until 3 AM playing over 7,781 hours of the game in less than two years. Another is said to have played 59,954. Calex, the firm representing the parents, cited addiction specialist Anita Ghadia-Smith who compared the game to cocaine.

'Fortnite' Chapter 4 gets Geralt of Rivia, a new island, dirt bikes

Fortnite has finally launched Chapter 4, which brings a new island with new features. Those with this season's battle pass get new unlockable characters, including The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia, Doom's Doom Slayer, The Incredible Hulk (though he's coming soon), and a couple of Fortnite originals including a skater dude named Massai and an axe-wielding girl who loves boba.

The new island features different points of interest, including a citadel housing a character known as "the Ageless," some kind of abandoned farm, and a mine full of new material called kinetic ore. There's a new vehicle in the form of dirt bikes, which is called a "trail thrasher" in the game. You can roll around in a giant snowball, use a flying jellyfish to restore health, acquire a melee weapon called the "shockwave hammer," and more. You can check out the complete list of changes here.

'Fornite' brings back giant pink mech for June 4 live event

Epic Games

Fortnite's latest season is about to end, so Epic Games plans to close the season with its next live event. Called "Collision," it will kick off on June 4 at 4 PM ET. You can queue up for the "be there or miss it" experience 30 minutes before it starts.

It isn't clear what you can expect, but the giant pink mech from 2019 might be making a comeback. It's already been spotted on the game's lobby screen while a giant tower is erected at the center of the map. Aside from being part of the experience, attending players during live events get an exclusive in-game loading screen and music track. If that's something you want to see, mark that date.
