Garmin unveils Descent G1 Solar – Ocean Edition, an eco-friendly dive computer made from ocean-bound plastics

The watch, which also exclusively features solar charging, is a multi-use smartwatch that can track various diving modes, fitness activities, and wellness metrics. It comes in a single Azure colorway with a dark lakeside case and an azure blue band.
The Descent G1 Solar – Ocean Edition is Garmin’s most sustainable smartwatch to date. It uses plastics that would otherwise end up in the ocean for its buttons, bezel, and housing. The source of these plastics is not specified by Garmin, but the company says it is committed to reducing its environmental impact. The watch still has a silicone strap and some other basic materials. The details of the sustainable materials used in the production of the device are not disclosed.
