Google Calendar lets you restore deleted entries

If you accidentally deleted a calendar entry, Google’s latest update for its Calendar is your new friend. It adds a trash feature where you can restore your deleted entries. It’s available for both individual and recurring events you have deleted in your calendar or other calendars you have editing rights to.

To access your junked events, simply click on the drop-down arrow next your calendar. Just like in Gmail you can also permanently delete items from your trash bin, too. This feature is coming to Google Calendar on the web in the coming days.

Google to discontinue Calendar text alerts for regular users

Google’s taking away Calendar’s text message alerts for regular users starting June 27^th. Those who use Google education, work, and government still have access to the feature though. If you’ve been relying on this feature to get updates, you’re going to have to start weaning yourself off of this reliance. Google opted to discontinue this feature because smartphones these days are said to give “richer, more reliable” notifications.

Google brings Calendar app to the iPhone

Find yourself using Google Calendar more but can’t use it on your iPhone? Well, now your wait is over. Google has finally ported its Calendar app to the iPhone. You now get Gmail events, schedule view, and wider account support (such as iCloud and Exchange) used by Android users. So, if you switch between Android and iOS these days, at least you’ll get the same interface when it comes to your Calendar.

Link Google Drive files with Google Calendar for Android

Google is adding even more functionality to its Calendar app on Android with the latest update. You can now associate Google Drive files to events. So, if you want people to see what the agenda is for your next meeting, you don’t have to send it in a separate email.

Other than that, Google Calendar also gets a seven-day week view, pinch-to-zoom navigation, and the ability to import .ICS calendar files you get through email. They’re rolling it out now and should be hitting your device soon. If you’re on iOS, you just have to wait a bit more, Google is working on it.
