The wait for Hogwarts Legacy has been long, and now we have a more specific(-ish) timeline. WB Games Avalanche said the delayed title will come out in holiday 2022. It was initially announced in late 2020 and scheduled for a 2021 release, but that got postponed to this year. We're now just waiting for an actual release date. The developer just shared a new trailer showing the look and a bit of the gameplay.
Hogwarts Legacy is a spinoff of the Harry Potter universe. This story takes place long before the events of the books. We get a look at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s, and you'll be a player in your fifth year at the school. You'll learn spells, brew potions, tame wild beasts, grow magical plants, and go to classes. You get the ability to manipulate ancient magic, which will be crucial for helping save the wizarding world from its enemies. Hogwarts Legacy will be available on the PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.
Just in time for "Back to Hogwarts" day, Pottermore Publishing partners with Google to have its virtual assistant read a chapter of Harry Potter to you. Say, "Hey Google, tell me a Harry Potter story" to have Google Assistant read chapter six of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The chapter is significant because it's the first time Harry boards the Hogwarts Express after getting invited to study at the famous wizarding school. In this chapter, we meet Ron, Hermione, Draco, and Neville for the first time. Basically, "it's the start of relationships that form the backbone of the Harry Potter stories."
To access the chapter, make sure you have the Google Play Books app on your Android or iOS phone. Android users already have Google Assistant. Now, if you use an iPhone, you will need to download the Google Assistant app.
After testing it out in Australia and New Zealand, Niantic’s new augmented reality-based game Harry Potter: Wizards Unitewill start rolling out globally this Friday, June 21st. As The Vergepoints out, it isn’t exactly clear how many markets will get the game during this launch date—especially with Niantic’s tweet saying to watch for more information “as the game goes live in your region soon.” Pokémon Go took a bit of time before it reached certain countries, so be prepared to wait for a bit.
