HTC teams up with ‘Captain America’ to give away limited edition S.H.I.E.L.D. HTC One M8

If you’re a fan of the Captain America franchise and want some exclusive merchandise, then it’s time to get those selfies ready. HTC has unveiled a limited edition HTC One M8 with S.H.I.E.L.D. logo etched at the back along with Captain America wallpapers. But they are giving these away through a “Super Selfie” contest. They will be giving away four units in Canada (two through Twitter and two through Facebook).

You just need to post your best Captain America-inspired selfie and share it on the Facebook contest post. If you’re entering through Twitter, you need to follow @HTCCanada and share your photo with the #superselfie hashtag. The contest is running until May 15 at 11:59p.m. ET. Winners will be announced on May 19. For more information about the contest, you can check the official page for the rules.

HTC One mini getting Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade

While the HTC One (M8) seems to have hogged all the headlines these past few days, the junior of the HTC One bunch, the HTC One mini, some versions are expected to start receiving the 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 5.5 update starting today. Canadians with HTC One minis on Rogers have had the KitKat update since February 27.

TELUS goes live with HTC One (M8) pre-order and purchase

As expected, and following HTC's official announcement (which we are covering live in New York), TELUS has gone live with their HTC One (M8) pre-order and purchase page. 

The device goes for $229 on a 2-year term, and $700 outright.

HTC teases Ultrapixel camera in new One smartphone

HTC isn’t done releasing teaser videos for the new HTC One. This time, the video shows off the image sensor on the upcoming flagship. The new camera sensor is a 2.0 micrometer ultrapixel image sensor that is said to capture more light than other smartphones out there. In layman’s terms, this means the HTC One will perform better under low-light situations and other lighting conditions.
