Samsung launches Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet

Today Samsung announced the launch of the Galaxy Note 10.1. Outfitted with the functionality and precision of a pen and paper on a 10.1-inch large display, the Galaxy Note 10.1 incorporates new features and capabilities such as side-by-side multitasking with the device’s Multiscreen feature. Pricing and availability has not yet been announced but we can get a good idea of the device's functionality in the video after the break.

LG Optimus 2X, Optimus Black and Sony Xperia Arc S and Mini Pro denied Android upgrades

Proving once again that there are no guaranteed OS upgrades with certain Android smartphone manufacturers. LG and Sony have both recently indicated that certain recent models will not be receiving Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean updates.

In LG's case, it is the Optimus Black and Optimus 2X which are stuck in Gingerbread-land. LG Canada broke the sad news on Twitter recently stating, “The Optimus Black will not be receiving the ICS upgrade” LG Canada said through the popular social network.  LG sent a similar message regarding the Optimus 2X which was expected to get the software updates.

Google launches $199 Nexus 7 Android tablet with Jellybean OS, targets Amazon's Kindle Fire

If you are an Android tablet manufacturer that has a 7-inch product that costs more than $200, take heed. Google just released their Nexus 7 tablet which boasts a quad-core or 12-core processor, runs the latest Android 4.1 Jellybean OS and is deeply integrated with their books, media, gaming and now magazine strategy. If you are Amazon, maker of the profoundly popular (in the US only) Kindle Fire, take heed. The Nexus 7, made by ASUS, will be available to the US, Canada and UK.
