Review: Adobe's touch-enabled iPad apps for Photoshop

Adobe's Creative Suite 5.5 update this year may have been a middling refresh with most of the the apps and overall incremental feature and performance enhancements. For the most popular application in the suite, Photoshop, nothing much has changed except for the new monthly subscription model and the ability to interface with a trio of clever iPad apps.

Adobe's Photoshop Touch apps now available for iPads

None of these are Photoshop for the iPad but a trio of Photoshop Touch apps that integrate with Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 are now available in Apple's app store. Adobe Color Lava, Adobe Eazel and Adobe Nav – for Apple iPad were developed using the Photoshop Touch Software Development Kit (SDK) to demonstrate the potential for new interaction between Photoshop and tablet devices. The photo above from White House photographer Pete Souza shows US President Barack Obama saluting officers as he walks towards Marine One. Clutched in his hand is an iPad 2 complete with a SmartCover. President Obama confirmed that he owned an iPad in a recent interview with TV anchor Jorge Ramos.

Early lines form for iPad 2 in Toronto

Photo by Justin Hui via Twitter Despite cold -12 degree temperatures following an anomalous Spring snowstorm Wednesday, people at the Eaton Centre Apple Store formed lines as early as 7:30 PM Thursday night (above). The line was moved outside the building until 6:00 when they were let back in. There were reportedly around 100 people in line by 7 AM. The iPad 2 goes on sale at 5 PM later today. The line at 3:30 wrapped around the entire top floor and back to where the Disney Store is.
