Apple launches official Instagram account to promote #ShotoniPhone photos

Apple just launched its own @apple account on Instagram. This specific Apple account focuses on iPhone photographers’ photos. It seems like a logical thing to do, especially with Instagram being a hub for smartphone photographers to share their work. For now you can see albums that are actually video slideshows of the photographers’ work and a sound clip of him or her talking about their work. Apple is even asking other Instagram users to share their own stuff through the #ShotoniPhone hashtag. So, if you’ve been meaning to share your great iPhone-based work or just want to look at gorgeous shots, this Apple account might be worth the follow.

Organize your iOS gallery with Flic

If you have been looking for an easier way to organize your iPhone’s photos, a new app may have the solution for you. Flic uses an extra simple method to help you sort through your shots. You just need to swipe left to throw it into the trash or swipe right to keep (yes, it is kind of like Tinder). It will show you how much space you are clearing with the photos you reject and it will only delete the photos once you get to the end of each month’s photos.

Apple reportedly purchases maker of burst photo app SnappyCam

Apple is rumoured to have bought company SnappyLabs, a one-man app maker of the discontinued SnappyCam app. Before it was taken down from the App Store, the app allows users to take full-quality burst mode photos. Perhaps Apple is looking to develop the burst mode photo capabilities of their devices with the new acquisition.

Flickr for iOS update adds auto-upload

Photo: 9to5mac.com

A new update for Yahoo!’s photo sharing service, Flickr, on iOS introduces Auto Upload. Automatically uploaded photos are set to private at first unless you manually share them. Once you activated the feature, 25 of your most recent shots will be uploaded in full resolution. Afterwards, each new photo you take will be treated the same. Auto Upload works over data or Wi-Fi.

Another feature added to the app is Auto Straighten via the in-app editor. Bug fixes for Google sign-in problems are also included in the update.
