Renders of the LG G6 appear, give us a better idea of what's coming at MWC

The LG G6 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated flagship releases of the year. Recent rneders show what this device could look like and it seems to be an improvement over the sleek looks of the LG V20. The renders, courtesy of Evan Blass (@EVleaks). There's a lot riding on the LG G6, the company posted their first quarterly loss in six years and this slide is attributed to the less than stellar LG G5 and its Friends, which failed to capture user interest despite the promise of modular expansion.

LG has some wiggle room to really shine at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, specially with rival Samsung sitting out this launch cycle, which gives LG the spotlight at the show. Stay tuned for more LG G6 news as we get more information in the coming days.

The V30 is looking to be LG’s flagship for 2017

The LG V20 is the predecessor of the rumoured V30

While LG is introducing the G6 in the coming days, it looks like that smartphone isn’t LG’s actual flagship for the year. Rumours are circulating that the upcoming V30 (successor to the V10 and V20) will actually be carrying that title. It’ll supposedly carry Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor, which the G6 doesn’t have as it’ll supposedly come with the Snapdragon 821. Aside from that the V30 will reportedly get 6GB of RAM, an improved Quad DAC, and dual cameras for both the front and back of the handset. But it’ll supposedly follow the timeline of the V series’ release, which means it comes out later in the year.  Of course, at the moment these are still rumours, but if this is true, it might be worth the wait.

New LG G6 teasers put the focus on reliability and possible waterproofing feature

With Samsung pushing back the release of its latest flagship, we can’t stress enough how important it is for LG to take advantage of the opportunity. And the South Korean brand seems to be making the most of it with its latest round of teasers for the LG G6. Two new teasers focus on talking about reliability with the words “Reliability. Check, check, check.” Whether this takes a stab at the troubles Samsung has faced or even to address the own flaws of its units, it’s a good thing to focus on.

LG drops more hints about G6 in MWC invite

It seems now’s the best time for LG to steal Samsung’s thunder at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona. With Samsung delaying the release of the Galaxy S8, this could be LG’s big chance to capitalize on it. Engadget received their invite for the G6’s unveiling at MWC. It has the words: “Big Screen… That Fits.” The words as well as the diagram shows off a device with a minimal bezel but it’ll come in the size you can manage. LG has previously said the device will have a unique 18:9 ratio display and calls it Full Vision. We can’t say if LG plans to drop more hints about its upcoming flagship but what we do know is it’ll be debuting on February 26.
