Messages in iCloud finally comes to macOS

It took a bit of time but Apple has finally released the Mac counterpart to be able to use Messages in iCloud. macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 brings with it the feature that will let you sync your chats across your Apple devices. This means, if you delete a message on your iMac, you can expect this to disappear on your iPhone. It’ll also give you access to your entire chat history if you’re setting up a new Mac device. No other big standout feature is included in the update, outside of the usual security and bug fixes.

Dangerous macOS High Sierra bug gives full admin access to your system without password

There are bugs that are harmless and plain annoying and then there are those that pose great danger. This recently spotted bug on the macOS High Sierra is of the dangerous variety. Developer Lemi Ergin discovered and shared on Twitter a bug that affects High Sierra 10.13.1 and macOS 10.13.2 beta. It lets anyone log into an admin account using the username “root” without having to put in a password. It works both when attempting to access an administrator’s account on an unlocked Mac and when accessing it through the login screen of a locked Mac. It basically gives access to all things on the computer. Until this issue is resolved, we take MacRumors suggestion of enabling a root account with a password to stop the bug from working.

Public beta of macOS High Sierra is now live

If you’ve been wanting to try out Apple’s newest version of its Mac operating system, then the wait is over. Public beta for macOS High Sierra is now available. Interested users can enroll in the Apple Beta Software Program and sign up at this link. But again we have to remind you that beta versions of an OS aren’t stable or will work as advertised just yet as this software is still in development.

WWDC 2017: Apple reveals macOS High Sierra

San Jose, CA - Along with a slew of hardware updates and releases as well as the first look at iOS 11, Apple revelaed macOS High Sierra as the next update to the Mac operating system. 

macOS High Sierra brings a lot of new feaures including new core storage, video and graphics technologies that pave the way for future innovation on the Mac, coming this fall as a free software update in the Mac App Store.

macOS High Sierra offers an all-new file system, support for High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and an update to Metal, Apple’s advanced graphics technology. The update also includes refinements to Photos, Safari and Mail.
