Xbox Canada shows off blockbuster game titles at X16 Media Showcase

Xbox Canada gives local media, influencers, and gaming fans a chance to see some of the biggest games ahead of their launches at this year’s X16 Media Showcase. This X16, which is being held today at the Fermenting Cellar in Toronto, plays host to Canadian-made titles ranging from AAA franchises to award-winning independent studios. If we were to name some of them these include Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, We Happy Few, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, TEKKEN 7, Steep, and Final Fantasy XV. Xbox Canada is also giving attendees a chance to learn more about the Xbox One S, Xbox Design Lab, and new features coming to Xbox Live.

Microsoft says that their Canadian Cloud is open for Business

Microsoft announced that their Canadian datacentres are officially open to power even more businesses in Canada. With this announcement, Microsoft Azure is generally available from local datacentre regions located in Toronto and Quebec City, and Office 365 is now offering data residency for Canadian business customers.

Microsoft offers Canadian businesses and public sector customers the most complete cloud. The Microsoft Cloud is enterprise grade, hyperscale, with the highest standards of data security and privacy, all hosted locally in Canada.

Microsoft Surface 3 loaded with family fun

We decided to stay home this past March Break while many of our friends had vacated to the ski hills out west or visited sunny destinations to the south. I figured it wasn't really THAT bad of a winter anyway and sometimes, a few days at home rediscovering the city (and a visit to grandparents) is just as much fun!

We filled up the week with fun things to do with the kids. We agreed to take part in the Microsoft Surface Scavenger Hunt. It sounded like an great idea because we definitely love scavenger hunt! In fact, when we go on a vacation, we often log into the global scavenger hunt Geocaching app as part of our adventures (if you haven't heard of it... Google it). It's quite the phenomenon!

Microsoft Cloud touches down in Canada, services to be delivered from Toronto and Quebec City 

Microsoft announced plans to deliver commercial cloud services from Canada. Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online will be delivered from Toronto and Quebec City in 2016, further strengthening Microsoft’s footprint in Canada’s competitive cloud landscape.

“Soon, the Microsoft Cloud will be truly Canadian,” said Kevin Turner, Worldwide Chief Operating Officer, Microsoft, who travelled to Toronto to make the announcement. “This substantial investment in a Canadian cloud demonstrates how committed we are to bringing even more opportunity to Canadian businesses and government organizations, helping them fully realize the cost savings and flexibility of the cloud,” said Turner. According to IDC, total public cloud spend in Canada is projected to grow to $2.5B by next year. The fastest growth will be from Public cloud infrastructure with a strong 45 per cent increase by 2016.
