Office gets better integration with Outlook for iOS

Microsoft's Outlook email app for iOS now offers better integration with the Microsoft Office productivity suite. Of course, you need to make sure you have the Office apps installed on your phone. And if you do, you'll be able to open and edit attachments easily and send them back with ease. You just need tap on the "Open in [Office app]" button make your edits, and then tap on the back button to head back to the Outlook app. It'll attach the edited document for you.

Google adds Hangouts plugin to Microsoft Outlook

Google is making it easier for office workers to start Hangouts session at work with its new plugin. The Hangouts plugin is designed to let you start or join Hangouts sessions directly in Microsoft Outlook’s mail or calendar functionality. The condition is you would need to have a Google Apps account.

You will need to download and install the Hangouts Plugin. After installing you will then see an icon that lets you schedule a new Hangout or join an existing one. You can find out more information here.

Microsoft Outlook to make its debut on Windows RT

With the upcoming launch of Windows 8.1, Microsoft is finally adding the blatantly missing piece of the Microsoft Office suite on RT, an official Outlook app. The arrival of a native Outlook app will provide all the Outlook functionality with a simpler user interface ideal for Windows RT devices.
