Microsoft's Your Phone app now lets you control music on your Android from a Windows 10 PC

Microsoft started testing the ability to control music from your Android on your Windows 10 machine at the end of April, and now it's rolling out to users.

The music or audio track you're playing on your smartphone can be seen on the Your Phone PC app. It displays a mini-player at the bottom left of the app with album art, song title, artist, what app is playing the track, and music control buttons similar to built-in Windows 10 music controls.

Microsoft's Your Phone app will soon allow you to make calls from your PC

Microsoft's Your Phone app is the company's solution for linking Android phones to Windows desktops and laptops. And it looks like the app is about to get more useful. Windows leakster Ajith found screenshots that show the user interface of the Your Phone app with a new "Calls" feature, suggesting you'll be able to make calls using the desktop app. It features a traditional keypad and also allows you to search for your contacts. The assumption is these will be synced from your phone to your desktop. And you will need to grant permissions in the settings for this to work. Microsoft has said in the past that this feature is in the works. But this is the first time we are seeing the UI and how it could work. There is no word yet when it is going to roll out to users.

Your Phone brings everything from notifications, text messages, as well as the use of some apps to your desktop or laptop so you wouldn't need to pick the phone up while working.  A quick reply system is also in the works for those who need that. You will need to have the app installed on both your Phone and Windows 10 to establish a link between devices.
