mophie introduces new charge stream wireless chargers

Wireless charging is slowly gaining popularity and with it the arrival of better wireless chargers. mophie alone just outed for different wireless chargers to address different needs. There’s a new vent mount charger, desk stand version, and two powerstation wireless chargers. The charge stream vent mount brings your device to eye level while bringing power to either device. With a wireless charging output of 10W, it can work for both the iPhone’s 7.5W and Samsung’s 9W maximum charging capacities. The vent mount retails for US$69.95 (approx. CA$92). mophie also introduced the charge stream desk mount that will let you charge your mobile device in either landscape or portrait orientation. It also has a 10W power output and will work with iPhones, Samsung smartphones, and other Qi-compatible phones.

Now, if you need something that can be untethered from a power cord, there are the charge stream powerstation wireless and powerstation wireless XL. The former has a capacity of 6,040mAh, while the latter has 10,000mAh. When you do charge your devices without being connected to a power cord, these unfortunately lose fast-charging option as it only outputs 5W of power. But if you do plug it in, it can also get 10W of power. All four chargers work with cases that are up to 3mm thick. The powerstation wireless and wireless XL go for $79.95 and $99.95, respectively. Except for the desk stand which comes in the Fall, all the other chargers are available from mophie’s store.

Mophie brings Qi wireless charging to the Pixel XL

Mophie's new Juice Pack case works around the lack of wireless charging on the Google Pixel XL. The new case adds an extra 2950mAh battery to your smartphone on top of the Qi wireless charging capability. Mophie says this protective case adds up to 50 additional talk time for the Pixel XL. And if you charge wirelessly, it can charge both the phone and the battery pack. And if you don't have a Qi wireless charging pad, Mophie claims it works with "other wireless systems."

If you want faster charging times, you can still plug in the USB Type-C cable and it'll charge the Pixel XL first before the Juice Pack. Perhaps the biggest disadvantage of the Juice Pack is that it adds on 3.8 ounces to an already gigantic device. But if you've been looking for a wireless charging option, the Mophie Juice Pack goes for around US$100.

Mophie’s new cases let you charge wirelessly

Mophie’s new line of cases will move you away from using a cable to charge. The Juice Pack cases will let you recharge your smartphone while magnetically holding it in place, meaning you can charge it at home, work, or even in the car. Of course, you’ll need the mounts but we’ll talk about that in a bit. Mophie is offering cases for the iPhone 6/6s and 6 Plus/6s Plus with an extra 1,560mAh and 2,420mAh, respectively. They also have versions of the Juice Pack for the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge with a 2,950mAh and 3,300mAh boost, respectively. Its charging base, which is part of Mophie’s new Charge Force line, has a desk stand and vent mount options.

If you want to buy the Juice Pack with the charging base, it retails for US$99.95 (approx. CA$130) for the 1,560mAh version of the iPhone 6/6s, while it costs US$129.95 (approx. CA$170) for the 2,420mAh model for the iPhone 6 Plus/6s Plus. The Juice Pack for the Galaxy S7 phones go for US$99.95 but that doesn’t come with the wireless charging base yet, which you can get for US$39.95 (approx. CA$52). If you want the desk and vent mounts, those retail for US$59.95 (approx. CA$78) each. It’s going to be quite an investment to start using these cases. You can check them out on Mophie’s site if you’re interested.
