Moto X gets $100 price cut in US

The Moto X is arguably one of the better Android smartphones in the market today. Midrange specs and innovative features made it count against more premium smartphones and the fact that it is a Google product ensured an expedient upgrade to the latest Android 4.4 version (in most markets, sadly not in Canada. Motorola has kicked off 2014 by cutting off $100 from the 16GB version for US models. This means you can design your own Moto X for a hundred bucks less. You still pay a $100 premium for the snazzy new bamboo backed variants. I recently purchased a used 32GB AT&T Moto X on eBay and unlocked it using the Unlock your Moto X app for US $13.00 and now use it on Telus. I couldn't be happier since the device came with KitKat preloaded.

Moto G release date, specs and pricing leaked by Amazon.co.uk

Looks like Amazon.co.uk jumped the gun on the upcoming Moto G. Scheduled to be announced this Wednesday Novemeber 13 (stay tuned for our coverage right here), the Moto G is the lower cost variant of the Moto X. According to the Amazon.co.uk leak, it will be released on Novemeber 14th, and it will cost £159.99 off contract for the 16GB black model. Of course this applies to the UK, so we can't tell what the Canadian pricing will be.

Moto X camera app update finds its way to Google Play

Seems that Motorola has made the smart decision to offer updates to its Moto X camera directly to users via Google Play. This method avoids the software update logjam because of the carriers. I received the update on my AT&T Moto X (unlocked) earlier this evening. The update promises brighter viewfinder display, bug fixes plus Quick Capture for Enterprise users' IT policies.
