Netflix Canada reveals what (and how) we binged in 2017

Canadians watched A LOT of Netflix this past year and the popular streaming service just released some interesting data on just what got most of our attention in 2017. What immediately caught our attention was January 1st being the most popular streaming day of the year! Canada also ranked second globally for having the most members to binge Netflix every single day.

Netflix launches on-demand birthday wishes for kids

Kids birthday parties have become pretty competitive over the past few years. Thanks to social media shares and Pinterest "inspiration", parents have taken their kids' birthday parties to a whole other level. We've all seen it. Moms who are obsessed with planning the parties for a four year old that is equivalent of a Sweet 16 party. Nothing wrong with that. I may have fallen in that obsession myself. After all, we gave birth to humans and these days we are looking for a reason to celebrate anything! 

But what we don't need is the stress of planning a party. According to a recent Netflix survey, 82% of parents around the world want their kids to feel special on their birthday. 71% of parents admit to feeling pressured to throw an over-the-top birthday party for their kids, but 71% also wish there was an easier way.

We give this Netflix spring cleaning a "thumbs up!"

Spring always gives me the urge to clean up from all the squirrelling we did over the winter months and not just the boots and coats (please tell me it ain't gonna snow again?). Spring cleaning also means getting ourselves back on track and more organized. That whole living an uncluttered life mentality is not a trend --it's a health benefit. Not being overwhelmed helps us manage life better and it's trickled into our Netflix viewing.

Netflix kids content spark interests worth exploring

A steady number of shows have been popping up on Netflix recently and not just for adults. Kids are also getting some pretty cool shows that, okay, even I have snuck a peak at while I hanging out with the wee ones in our family. We're not just being entertained but there are a number of shows that we can identify with as "to grow and learn by"-- shows that not only have teachable moments but inspire a younger generation of viewers to explore ideas further and to think beyond their everyday activities.
