Thanks to a deal by Netflix Canada, the streaming service in the country will be the only one who can stream the highly anticipated Star Wars film next year. Canada’s the only one who has secured streaming rights for Star Wars: The Force Awakens as their deal with Disney includes 2015 releases. Under the terms of the deal, it will happen about eight months after the movie leaves theatres. With the film debuting this December, we should expect it around August. The US premium cable channel Starz has an exclusive output deal with Disney that runs through the end of the year, Netflix’s deal with Disney kicks in for 2016 title so no new Star Wars for them.

But while The Force Awakens won’t hit other Netflix queues soon, the company is working on bringing the older Star Wars films to its service.

Netflix wants you to recommend shows to your Facebook friends

If you want to inspire your friends with your brilliant entertainment recommendations or inflict your bad viewing choices on others, you can do that now with Netflix. Users in Canada and the U.S. can now send content recommendations to their friends, family, acquaintances, awkward dates, and the like. According to Cameron Johnson, director of product innovation at Netflix, you will be prompted to recommend the show to people in your Facebook list after you finish watching a show. You don’t have to worry about them seeing how much bad television you watch though, that will be kept to you. Also, if your friends’ Facebook accounts aren’t linked to your Netflix, the recommendations will be sent as a Facebook message.

Get ready to stream 'Breaking Bad' in 4K on Netflix

Netflix has previously said they had plans on streaming more 4K ultra-high definition content. The streaming service makes good on its promise and is now streaming the extremely popular TV series Breaking Bad in UHD.  All markets with Netflix can now stream the series in all its 4K glory starting today. But there is a caveat. You can only stream Breaking Bad in 4K from an Ultra HD 4K Smart TV that supports Netflix. If you have one of those, then get ready to re-immerse yourself in Walter White’s world.

House of Cards was the first series the company offered in 4K and they said they plan to stream all its original content in 4K format.

Netflix for Android supports your binge watching with new update

Watching Netflix on your Android device before wasn’t conducive for binge-watching sessions. Now, Netflix wants to support your habits with a new “post-play” feature. After each TV show episode, the app will now automatically queue up the next episode on your smartphone or tablet and start playback after 15 seconds, unless you pause or stop the app that is. Tablet users have the additional feature of getting three movie recommendations after finishing one flick.

According to Netflix, post-play will make its way to Chromecast in the coming months. However, for Android phones, tablets, and Amazon Kindle Fire devices running Android 4.0 or greater, you can download the app from Google Play now.
