'No Man's Sky' Interceptor update rolls out with new experiences, VR improvements

Hello Games has officially updated No Man's Sky to add new virtual reality features, expand its lore, and bring new experiences to the game. This free update is called Interceptor. And it brings a new corruption throughout the universe, which gives rise to new enemies. There's also a new Starship you can collect, which is powered by new technology and equipped with new features.

The game also gets visual improvements and new features for VR, including wrist interface controls. There are also Xbox-focused improvements for a smooth and consistent frame rate in the game. Interceptor is available for download on the PC, the PS4 and the PS5, the Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and virtual reality.

'No Man's Sky' is coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 7

No Man's Sky is finally ready to make the leap to the Nintendo Switch. The highly anticipated game will be coming to Nintendo's portable console on October 7. It will get all the features and upgrades that developer Hello Games introduced to other consoles. It's unclear how the game will perform on Nintendo's hardware, but the developer wanted to assure users it would run reasonably well. 

Digital and physical editions of the game will be available on the Switch on its launch day. On the same day, fans can buy a physical version for the PS5, followed by a Mac and iPad version later this year.

Nintendo Switch is getting 'No Man's Sky' this summer

Another announcement from the recent Nintendo Direct brings space exploration sim, No Man's Sky, to the company's portable console. Nintendo announced that it is bringing No Man's Sky to the Switch this summer, six years after its debut on other platforms. If you haven't played it before, the game lets you explore procedurally generated worlds across a vast galaxy. While the game had a rocky start on other platforms, the Nintendo Switch will get access to all its features right from launch.

Hello Games wants to improve VR graphic quality of 'No Man's Sky'

No Man's Sky brought virtual reality support to the game through its "Beyond" update. But that wasn't without its issues. VR players were running into problems with the game's graphics, particularly on the PSVR. That's why the studio Hello Games wants to bring optimizations to the game—not just to the PSVR but to all VR platforms as well.
