Tizen OS introduces 15 additional partners

The Tizen Association has just announced the addition of 15 more partners who will help develop the open source operating system Tizen. The partner program was introduced in November 2013 with 36 initial members. The new partners include ZTE, AccuWeather, CloudStreet, Sprint, Baidu, Cyberlightning, SoftBank Mobile, Acrodea, DynAgility, Red Bend Software, Gamevil, Piceasoft, Nomovok, Ixonos, and Inside Secure. The members can attend Tizen Association meetings to help develop the OS and work with Tizen Association Working Groups.

Apple tipped to debut iOS 7.1 update in March

 

Apple is supposedly releasing an iOS 7 update this March to address a few bugs and tweak the user interface. The Verge reports the new update will fix the issues related to iOS 7 devices randomly rebooting. The new iteration of the OS will also include minor design changes to the iPod and dialer as well as the addition of an option to turn off the “parallax” effect or wallpaper motion while the folder animation stays on.

Samsung sends out invites for Tizen event at MWC

Samsung is looking to debut Tizen operating system at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Ubergizmo reports the invites for a Tizen event on February 23 have been sent out. Perhaps will get to see some of big Korean carriers such as KT, SK Telecom, and LG U+ to help Samsung show off the Tizen-powered devices.

OS Shootout: Windows 7 Vs. Apple Snow Leopard

2009 was a landmark year for desktop operating system upgrades. Apple got the excitement going by introducing Snow Leopard or OS X 10.6 that enhances performance and functionality while actually saving space by trimming off a lot of archaic code. The result is faster startup, shutdown, wake-from-sleep and Time Machine backups.
