Don’t expect a MacBook/iPad hybrid, says Apple CEO Tim Cook

With the launch of the iPad Pro, Apple CEO Tim Cook calls it the replacement device for a notebook or desktop. But he clarifies this as meaning Windows-based notebooks and desktops and not the Mac. “We don’t regard Macs and PCs to be the same,” says Cook. “What we’ve tried to do is recognize that people use both iOS and Mac devices.” He didn’t elaborate this in his independent.ie interview. What Apple has done with the iPad Pro and its newer iOS 9 devices is focusing on the handoff feature instead of bringing iOS and OS X into a single operating system. Cook says he doesn’t think that combining the MacBook and iPad is what the consumers really want.

“Because what that would wind up doing, or what we’re worried would happen, is that neither experience would be as good as the customer wants. So we want to make the best tablet in the world and the best Mac in the world. And putting those two together would not achieve either. You’d begin to compromise in different ways,” says Cook.

Warner Bros. concedes and now offers refunds for ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ on the PC

Fans have not been too kind to Warner Bros. after the release of Batman: Arkham Knight on the PC was a big dud initially. They have managed to work out the kinks but that’s after a four-month overhaul. But there are some issues that fans don’t seem to want to forgive. That’s why now those who bought the game on the PC are eligible for a refund between now and the end of the year. The refund has an exception: the Arkham Knight season pass is only eligible for a refund with the main game, you can’t return the DLC separately. And it seems not all the versions of the game are eligible for the refund, either. Some users who bought the retail copy of the game can’t seem to get the refund page to load for them. The full details of the refund are on the game’s Steam community page.

Review: Microsoft Office 2016

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

It’s been a momentous year for Microsoft. Just look at all the notable and premium hardware they’ve released in the past week alone. Before that, they had major game releases on Xbox One (which is currently routing PS4 in terms of popularity and games worth playing).

Windows 10, which is a massive and major release for Microsoft, has received unprecedented adoption at 130 million installs in just eight weeks. What’s more, Office 2016 is out and available on both PCs and Macs plus there are very serviceable versions for iOS and Android as well. What does Office 2016 on Mac and PC have to offer?

‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ is finally making a PC comeback

After a horribly buggy release for the PC, Batman: Arkham Knight is finally making a comeback to the PC. According to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the patch to fix the many bugs will be ready by the end of the month. And it will support “all DLC that has been released for the console versions.” Perhaps the release comes a bit too late for you, but if you have been waiting for this, you just have until the end of the month until you get to play Batman: Arkham Knight on your desktop.
