CES 2020: PopSockets introduces a wireless charger that works with PopGrips

One of the downsides of having a PopSockets PopGrip attached to your phone is that you won't be able to charge your device wirelessly unless you take it out. But the company remedies that with its new PopPower Home wireless charger. The US$60 charger debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It sports a hole in the middle of the charging pad so you can place your supported Apple or Android smartphone on it while it charges.

The PopPower Home charger works with phone cases that are up to 5mm thick. And it can even charge devices and accessories that don't have a PopGrip attached to it. So, it can also charge your AirPods with its wireless charging case—even if it has one of those case covers from PopSockets. There is an LED indicator on the side that will let you know if the case is charging.

PopSockets turns to beverages with PopThirst line

You know PopSockets for its smartphone accessories. The unusual little retractable phone holder generated US$90 million in profit in 2018 for the company. But now the company is setting its sights on a new industry: beverages. It's now making drink holders. The cup sleeve comes with the pop-out gripper, and it works for both hot and cold drinks. And in typical PopSockets fashion, it's available in different styles. The PopThirst can holder and cup sleeves are available for US$15 over at its site.

CES 2019: OtterBox and PopSockets partner for this handy case

Seems like a partnership that should’ve existed a long time ago, but we welcome it, nonetheless. OtterBox and PopSockets address a clunky problem with the latter’s product with the new Otter + Pop case. The OtterBox case comes with a built-in PopGrip, which can handle swappable PopTops. The case itself comes in black, blue, or mauve, and it comes with PopTop that matches the case. But, as mentioned, you can put any PopTop you want. What’s great is the PopTop lays flush against the case when you aren’t using it, letting you lay the phone flat on a surface. It’s available for the iPhone XS, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus (sorry iPhone XR users, no case for you). Prices start at US$59.95 (approx. CA$80).
