Indigo launches mobile app on Android and iOS

Indigo, Canada's leading seller of books, lifestyle items and gifts, has just released a new mobile app on Android as well as on iOS (with PassBook functionality).

The new app, designed specifically for the Android  as well as iOS platforms, simplifies the Indigo shopping experience for quicker and easier purchasing, at home, in-store, or on the go. 

“Our customers have let us know that they want to experience all that Indigo offers through their mobile devices,” said Sumit Oberai, Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Digital at Indigo Books & Music, Toronto. “Our new mobile app will ensure that we’re offering a truly integrated and rich experience across our channels.”

Unlocked version of Apple's iPhone 5c now available for pre-order

Today's the day to pre-order the new iPhone 5c in time for the September 20 release date. Apple Canada is taking orders for the green, blue, yellow, pink, and white models in either 16GB ($599) or 32GB ($719) capacities. These will be unlocked versions that can be used on any supporting carrier. Apple cites delivery times for pre-orders placed today at around 9/20-9/24. If the gold, silver or space grey  colours of the flagship iPhone 5s are more your thing, you'll have to wait until September 20 to order or join the lines at Apple Retails stores and Canadian carriers.

Microsoft mini-stores coming to Future Shop

User's who have been wating to experience what it is like to visit a Microsoft Store might soon get a chance to have a sampling by visiting their neighbourhood Future Shop location. A slide shown during a media event for Future SHop today shows a rendering of a Microsoft Store within a store concept in what looks to be a Future Shop location. The product layout, treatment and advertising looks very similar to what the Microsoft Store in Yorkdale looks like except for the giant plug-in HDTV screens.

Apple Camp Canada now accepting kids aged 8-12 for free three-day creative workshop

Apple Camp is now accepting applications from creative kids ages 8-12 to learn how to shoot their own footage, create an original song in GarageBand on an iPad, and put it all together in iMovie on a Mac. This FREE workshop, held at participating Apple Retail Stores, spans three days and ends with campers debuting their masterpieces at the Apple Camp Film Festival. Kids will learn the rudiments of filmmaking, from concept to soundtrack, storyboard, shooting, production and editing. Children will have to be accompanied by their parents.
