Apple’s Siri will supposedly be able to transcribe your voicemail

A new report claims Apple will be expanding the capability of Siri, turning it more into a virtual secretary. This voice assistant will reportedly get the ability to transcribe your voicemails into text. When someone calls you you, the calls will be redirected to Siri instead of the audio recorder and a beep. Siri will then give select callers a message as to why you can’t be reached at the moment and even give your location if needed. Siri will then transcribe the message it received. This is reportedly in limited testing at Apple now and should be released by next year, possibly in time for iOS 10.

Apple rumoured to be unveiling new Apple TV in September

It’s been two years since Apple refreshed its Apple TV device so now might be a good time for an upgrade. Recent reports have surfaced that the Cupertino-based tech giant plans to unveil a new version of its set-top box in September. The new Apple TV will reportedly have a slimmer chassis, “drastically improved” remote with touchpad input, Siri support, and a bump up for onboard storage. The gadget will even supposedly launch with its own App Store and software development kit. Apple declined to comment on these reports so we can only keep speculating about it at the moment.

Samsung rumoured to be packing 4GB RAM into Galaxy Note 5

The rumour mill keeps churning for Samsung’s upcoming flagship phablet. This time around the Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly feature a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, which will be combined with Samsung’s Exynos 7422 64-bit octa-core processor. This’ll make it the company’s first all-in-one chipset. This “ePOP” chipset will also reportedly have GPU, onboard storage, and Shannon 333 LTE modem.

Other reported specs of the Galaxy Note 5 include a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display, S Pen Stylus (obviously a given with the Note line), improved 16-megapixel rear camera, and built-in wireless charging. It’ll also supposedly feature a curved glass back and aluminum frame, similar to what the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has. The bad news about that rumour is it might also mean the battery won’t be removable for the Note 5.

Samsung rumoured to be unveiling Galaxy Note 5 mid-August to oneup 'iPhone 6s' launch

If you follow Samsung's schedule for releases, the next Note device should show up at IFA Berlin conference. But it would seem they won't be following this schedule, if rumours are to be believed, that is. A source told The Wall Street Journal that Samsung plans to unveil its next Galaxy Note device at a special event in the U.S. around mid-August. The move is supposedly meant to preempt the publicity for the latest iPhone iteration (iPhone 6s or whatever it's new name will be). If this pushes through, Samsung will be joining the line of big tech companies that prefer to hold special events for their launches (Apple, Google, and Microsoft).
