Google tipped to unbundle Photo Gallery from Google+

Google has previously consolidated its Android photo and video gallery into an app called photos. A report from Bloomberg claims this might come to an end soon and we might not see the Gallery app anytime soon. Google will reportedly separate its photo services from Google+ so anyone can access them without having an account on their social network. This reported photo service will be considered a self-serving entity, much like how Instagram is separate from Facebook. If these rumours are true, we think it would be a good idea so that more people will gain access to more photo features on their Android devices.

HTC rumoured to unveil new Windows Phone device at August 19th event

HTC has something up its sleeves and the tech rumour mill is buzzing. The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is hosting an event in New York this coming August 19 and they aren’t saying what it’s for. Some people claim the event will be for HTC One M8 for Windows. The device will reportedly feature most of the same specs the Android flagship will have such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 5-inch 1080p display, and 16GB or 32GB internal storage. But the device will carry Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system. Whether this rumour is true or not, we’d just have to wait and see what HTC has in store for us.

A 5.9-inch Google- and Motorola-made Nexus is on its way?

If this new rumour is to be believed, it would seem we would be getting something Google fans have been waiting for: a bigger Nexus device made by Google and Motorola. Codenamed “Shamu” the 5.9-inch device will reportedly come with a fingerprint sensor and have a November release. It is tipped to be carried by several US carriers and other unspecified carriers around the world. Shamu is said to be running on a Google-based kernel, which is typically only used by Nexus devices. We’re not sure about the veracity of the rumour but it’s something we would want to hear more about if it is true.

Report claims production of 5.5-inch iPhone 6, new iPads pushed back to September

Reports have surfaced that the bigger 5.5-inch version of the iPhone will start production at a later date than the 4.7-inch model. The Taiwanese media have been reporting that production for that larger Apple smartphone will start in September, which is reportedly the month when the 4.7-inch will hit stores. Production capacity will also reportedly be limited at first with manufacturing set to increase by 84 percent by the fourth quarter of 2014.

According to the same Taiwanese report, the new iPad mini and iPad Air will also start mass production in September. Not much is known about the next-gen tablets except both might have Apple’s Touch ID sensor. Of course, we all have to take these reports with a grain of salt. But it does give us a timeline of sorts when to expect the newest goodies from Apple.
