Samsung rumoured to unveil Android Wear smartwatch at Google I/O

Samsung is reportedly unveiling its take on Android Wear smartwatch at the upcoming Google I/O conference. Unidentified sources spoke to CNET to say that the watch will come in two flavours: one running on Qualcomm’s processors and another on Samsung’s own chips. The new smartwatch will reportedly be based on the Gear 2 Neo and Galaxy Gear.

Lending credence to the rumours, Samsung has filed for the “Galaxy Wear” trademark and there was an FCC listing that surfaced earlier this week that shows a smaller Gear smartwatch.

Rumoured release for the Apple iWatch set in October

iWatch concept by Belm Designs

The rumour mill for Apple’s iWatch, the company’s supposed entry into the wearable device market, just keeps churning. This time around Reuters reports that Apple has hired Quanta to begin mass production of the device next month for a launch that could happen on October.

The iWatch will reportedly feature a 2.5-inch display and will have the watch’s face slightly protrude from the band to create an arched shape of sorts. It will supposedly feature wireless charging capabilities and a touch interface. Apple has never publicly acknowledge the arrival of this said device but pundits have been saying that this smartwatch has been in the works in a while. And we are still waiting on Tim Cook’s promise that they will be introducing “exciting” new products.

Next Samsung Galaxy Note will reportedly get a QHD display

If you're an avid Samsung Galaxy Note fan, you might want to watch for what's next in the pipeline. The South Korean tech company has just posted a web profile for an unannounced and unidentified SM-N910A device that features a 2560x1440 display with the same screen size as the Note 3. This is supposedly the next Note device because the Note 3 for AT&T is the SM-N900A.

If this truly is the next Note device, then it will have visuals that can take on the G3. And we know how Samsung is doing in the display department for its devices.

LG tipped to release a souped-up version of the G3

The LG G3 hasn’t even reached this side of the world yet and already there are rumours that the flagship device will get a variant that is carrying a more powerful processor. The South Korean tech company will reportedly swap the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a Snapdragon 805 processor and pair it with an Adreno 420 graphics processor. Benefits of this swap will include increasing gaming capabilities and snappier operation as well as added support for 4K video. A new modem will also bring theoretical download speeds of 225Mbps over 802.11ac Wi-Fi. We can’t confirm the veracity of the rumour at the moment so best assume we’ll be getting the flagship in its current state. If we find out anything more, then we will let you know.
