Huawei Mate 30 Pro will reportedly up the camera game

Huawei's next major flagship, the Mate 30 Pro, is highly anticipated by smartphone fans. And one of the biggest things about the phone will be its camera setup. New leaks about the phone cite the three advanced specs for the camera. According to @Rodent950 on Twitter, the phone will have a 40MP 1/1.5" sensor with f/1.6 - f/1.4 aperture, RYYB pixel layout and Cine lens (for videos), 40MP 1/1.7" 120-degree ultra-wide lens with Cine lens, and an 8MP telephoto 5x zoom lens. Famous leaker Ice Universe corroborates the claim by saying the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 "has no chance of beating [the] Mate30 Pro in terms of camera hardware." The larger sensors being pegged for this phone signals Huawei taking cues from the likes of the old Nokia Lumia 1020 of having large high-resolution sensors to achieve the best picture quality.

Other rumoured specs of the phone include a new edge-to-edge waterfall screen, HiSilicon Kirin 985 processor, integrated 5G modem, 55W fast-charging support, and 10W wireless reverse charging support.

Samsung Galaxy S11 might kick off the new era for the company

We know the Galaxy Note 10 isn’t here yet, but that isn’t stopping the rumours from coming in about Samsung’s next flagship. Samsung leaker/insider Ice Universe shared some details about the S11 that we’re anticipating. The phone is reportedly being called “Picasso,” who is known to be a revolutionary painter. (In case you wanted to know, the Galaxy Note 10 was codenamed Da Vinci, who was known for his do-it-all brilliance.) The camera will get a “substantial” upgrade. It’ll reportedly have a smaller front-facing camera than the Note 10. The S11 will supposedly launch with the second-generation version of Samsung’s One UI interface on top of Google’s upcoming Android Q. And it will reportedly run on next-generation memory that won’t work with the Note 10.

There’s a possibility that the S11 will take its cue from the Note 10, which will reportedly drop the headphone jack and get rid of the microSD card slot for the entry-level. But it’s being said that the Note 10 is dropping this to make space for the S Pen. Perhaps with the S11, Samsung might change its mind. It’s going to be quite a wait until we see the S11 and whether it ushers in a new era for the company.

There won’t be a Galaxy Note 10 Tesla Edition

A render made its rounds on the internet recently that suggested Samsung was working with Tesla for a special edition version of the upcoming Galaxy Note 10. Unfortunately, that was just a render created by YouTuber Arun Maini on Twitter. It made its rounds on the Chinese blogging platform Weibo that suggested we were getting a “Galaxy Note 10 Tesla Edition.” It seemed plausible because a lot of phone makers have been partnering with luxury brands to release special edition models of their devices. You have Huawei with Porsche Design and OnePlus with McLaren, to name a few.

While this rumour has been squashed, what is happening soon though is the launch of the Galaxy Note 10. It’s reportedly happening on August 7, with two versions of the phablet being introduced.

You might be able to operate the Pixel 4 with hand gestures thanks to the Project Soli chip

Project Soli was first demoed by Google back at I/O in 2016 (you can check out the video above). The radar-based motion sensors will let you operate phones, smartwatches, and even smart speakers by using hand gestures. Now, reports suggest the Project Soli chip will be showing up in the upcoming Google Pixel 4 phone. In December 2018, Google got approval from the Federal Communications Commission to deploy and operate Project Soli sensors at high power levels and even aboard an aircraft, citing the fact that this will “serve the public interest.” The company applied for the waiver in March 2018 to let them capture motion in a 3D space using a radar beam, allowing for the touchless control of devices.

Is this just going to be a different take on what LG has tried to bring back with the G8 ThinQ? Would you want this on your next Pixel phone? The Pixel 4 is slated to come out in October, so we should hear more about this soon.
