Here are the winners of Mobile World Congress 2016

The Oscars might be awarding the best in its industry right now. But the recently concluded Mobile World Congress also awarded the best of the mobile tech industry. Some of the big winners include the LG G5 as the “Best new mobile device,” the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge as the “Best smartphone of 2015,” the “Best low cost smartphone” goes to Xiaomi Redmi 2, and the “Best mobile tablet” goes to Microsoft Surface Pro 4. There were 930 entrants this year and these were narrowed down to 170 nominees until we ended up with the 42 winners. SoundCloud now has an app to help creators manage their community

SoundCloud as we know is an audio-based app or site that lets you upload audio clips or even sample tracks by some artists. Taking cues from YouTube and its video stars, SoundCloud is helping out content creators on its platform with a new companion app to help them manage their community called SoundCloud Pulse.

The app is designed to make it easier for creators to check on their followers and even help grow them. You can view things like stats on your posts/tracks, reply to people commenting on your uploads, follow other users, and share uploaded tracks privately or publicly to selected users. Other features coming to the app include the ability to upload tracks from your mobile device, edit track information, expand message capability, and more in-depth stats. The app is available for free download on Android.

Peggo converts YouTube and Soundcloud files to audio

Want to just listen to a long interview on YouTube while you do your chores? Peggo brings its app to Android so you can grab those YouTube videos and Soundcloud songs and turn these into audio that you can listen to offline. It’ll normalize the volume of the files you rip so it doesn’t come out too loud or too soft. It also removes the silences so it can cut down the file size and take out those long breaks for you. These files are saved at the highest bitrate possible so you don’t lose the quality. The app’s available in the Amazon App Store or you can grab the APK and sideload it.

SoundCloud makes music search easier on iOS app

With so many music streaming options out there, if a service doesn’t innovate, it will get left behind. That’s why SoundCloud has just introduced new features to its iOS app to keep their users listening on the app. The iOS app now features a “Play related tracks” option so you can hear songs similar to a track you love. The app also now has a shuffle feature for your liked songs or playlists. And you can now edit said playlists within the app. You no longer have to switch to the browser to do so. The update is already available for iOS. However, there is no word when Android users will be getting these new nifty features.
