ZTE unveils affordable Nubia Neo 2 5G gaming phone

Building on the success of its predecessor, ZTE unveiled the Nubia Neo 2 5G at MWC 2024, a budget-friendly gaming phone with a surprising price tag of only US$199 (around CA$270).

Targeted at gamers who want solid performance without breaking the bank, the Neo 2 boasts several impressive features for its price. It has a large and smooth 6.72-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ample storage options of up to 256GB, and a long-lasting 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. While the specific chipset remains undisclosed, the phone packs an 8-core CPU clocked at 2.7GHz.

ZTE ZPAD 10 is now available at Telus

ZTE Canada has just announced its new Android tablet, and it's coming to Telus. The ZPAD 10 comes with a 10.36-inch FHD+ display with dual speakers tuned with DTS:X Ultra. Expect to get extended use with its 7,250mAh battery. The ZPAD 10 runs on a Qualcomm SM6115 octa-core processor and Android 11 operating system. It offers Wi-Fi and wireless connectivity, ensuring you stay online wherever you go. It also has a landscape-oriented camera, making it easier to make and answer video calls. ZTE Axon 20 5G is the first smartphone featuring an under-display camera

While it's a device we aren't sure will ever make its way to this side of the world, the ZTE Axon 20 5G with its under-display selfie camera is the kind of device we want to see more. The Chinese company beat its competition to the punch by being the first to sell a smartphone with an under-display camera for RM2,198 (around CA$422) in China.

ZTE claims to have achieved this feat using five "core technologies," including special materials, dual-control chip, unique driver circuits, the special pixel matrix, and the in-house selfie algorithm. The company uses high transparency material composed of new organic and inorganic films to improve light input to the 32-megapixel front camera.

ZTE brings Grand X View 4 to Freedom Mobile

ZTE's new tablet, the Grand X View 4, is now available through Freedom Mobile for $192 outright or through a monthly plan that costs $15 per month. The plan comes with 4GB worth of data. 

What does the tablet offer? It runs on Qualcomm's QM215 quad-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage (up to 2TB). The Grand X View 4 has an 8-inch HD+ 1,200 x 800 resolution screen surrounded by thick bezels. Its looks remind us a bit of the old Nexus tablets. It has front-facing speakers and 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera combo. ZTE promises up to nine hours of video playback with its 4,630mAh battery. Connectivity support includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, LTE, and Bluetooth 4.2.

The tablet will also be coming to other carriers in the coming months.
