ZTE brings to market the first smartphone with an under-display camera

ZTE is not the first manufacturer to develop a smartphone with an under-display camera. The company will be the first to mass-produce and release it to the public, though. ZTE announced that the Axon 20 5G will be launching on September 1. It's expected to sport a 6.92-inch OLED display, which will not be interrupted by notches or punch holes thanks to the front camera hidden under the screen.

ZTE ceases operations, reportedly on life support after U.S. ban

Chinese smartphone and communications manufacturer ZTE is reportedly on life support following a crushing US ban. The company has apparently ceased all online and retail operations in the wake of a ban imposed by the US goverment. ZTE is China's second largest telecom equiptment maker, it made its name in North America selling affordable smartphones as well as portablw Wi-Fi hotspot devices.

ZTEwas banned  for illegally shipping goods to Iran, the result is the ceasing of major operating activities for the companies. "ZTE appears to have suspended its online stores on its own website as well as on Alibaba Group’s e-commerce platform Taobao over the past few days, which display a “page being updated” message with no products to order," a report from Reuters says.

ZTE Axon 7 gets Android Nougat and Daydream support

If you own a ZTE Axon 7, you’re in for a treat. The smartphone is getting a significant update. It gets both Android Nougat and support for Google’s Daydream virtual reality platform. With Android 7.0, the Axon 7 will get access to features like being able to run two apps side by side, new emojis, and better battery saving capabilities. Meanwhile, Daydream brings on the table the ability to get a great VR experience on an affordable phone.

Here are the winners of Mobile World Congress 2016

The Oscars might be awarding the best in its industry right now. But the recently concluded Mobile World Congress also awarded the best of the mobile tech industry. Some of the big winners include the LG G5 as the “Best new mobile device,” the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge as the “Best smartphone of 2015,” the “Best low cost smartphone” goes to Xiaomi Redmi 2, and the “Best mobile tablet” goes to Microsoft Surface Pro 4. There were 930 entrants this year and these were narrowed down to 170 nominees until we ended up with the 42 winners.
