A recent report came out claiming one of Tesla’s latest acquisitions is a battery manufacturing company based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. According to public records, Tesla bought Hibar Systems sometime between July and October 2019. Before July 2019, Tesla Canada didn’t have any subsidiary companies. But recent federal documents show Hibar as a company that it owns. Neither company has commented on the matter yet. As for a reason for the acquisition, we can assume, based on Hibar’s business, that it has something to do with the battery manufacturing process.

There won’t be a Galaxy Note 10 Tesla Edition

A render made its rounds on the internet recently that suggested Samsung was working with Tesla for a special edition version of the upcoming Galaxy Note 10. Unfortunately, that was just a render created by YouTuber Arun Maini on Twitter. It made its rounds on the Chinese blogging platform Weibo that suggested we were getting a “Galaxy Note 10 Tesla Edition.” It seemed plausible because a lot of phone makers have been partnering with luxury brands to release special edition models of their devices. You have Huawei with Porsche Design and OnePlus with McLaren, to name a few.

While this rumour has been squashed, what is happening soon though is the launch of the Galaxy Note 10. It’s reportedly happening on August 7, with two versions of the phablet being introduced.

While it is still illegal and dangerous to play games on the massive touchscreen infotainment system of Tesla cars, that isn’t stopping the company from adding more distractions/fun activities to do. Fallout Shelter and the YouTube app are coming to Tesla vehicles. Tesla CEO Elon Musk made the announcement during a live chat with Bethesda Game Studios Director Todd Howard during Geoff Keighley’s E3 Coliseum event. The game will join indie platformer Cuphead on Tesla’s cars. At the event, they also showed off a demo of Beach Buggy Racing 2 where you can use the steering wheel of your car to steer your in-game vehicle. Now, let’s just hope we get far along with self-driving tech that the drivers can actually take advantage of these games. For now, it’s best to leave it to your passenger to play.

Tesla warns employees to not leak information

It’s known that Tesla has trouble with leakers within its company. And it seems it’s reached the point where even the warning against its employees to not leak information has been leaked. According to the email sent to staff, it asserted that outsiders have been “targeting” its employees to get vital information to make sure they “see us fail.” The email warned employees that those discovered leaking information will be fired and have charges filed against them. In the past, information like production numbers and internal meeting’s phone number have been leaked.

Tesla isn’t the first company to warn its employees about leaking information. But with company dealing with some financial troubles, it doesn’t want to the leaks to affect the spending habits or perceptions of its customers and investors. It might not solve its troubles, but it would take out one more factor that could affect business.
