Video:Toshiba Thrive 7-inch Android Honeycomb tablet

We saw the 7-inch Toshiba Thrive druing Toshiba's Holiday product showcase today. This is the lightest 7-inch tablet we've seen, runs a pure Android experience and has the same high resolution of the 10-inch model but in a smaller, more portable form factor. WiFi model coming in November and a 3G version sometime early 2012.

Steve Wong of Toshiba Canada gave us a pretty comprehensive overview of Toshiba's Honeycomb (3.1) tablet which is called the Thrive in some markets. Coming to Canada in August, this tablet has a lot going for it. It is the only one in the market with user replaceable batteries ($59.95) and it has I/O galore including a full size SD Card slot, HDMI, miniUSB, full-size USB and dual cameras. Toshiba's Thrive brings new colour to Android tablets

Toshiba's Thrive is  Toshiba's first tablet for the US market and was revealed  that Best Buy (US) will be taking with pre-orders beginning June 13th for a mid-July Ship date. Running Android 3.1, it will be sold in three capacities, 8GB ($429), 16GB ($479), and 32GB ($579).

The Thrive also gets the colour treatment with an assortment of delighful hues that go beyond just black and white. Powered by Tegra 2 processors and featuring WiFi, Bluetooth, full-sized USB and HDMI ports, an SD slot, a 2 MP front-facing camera plus a 5MP rear camera. No 3D nonsense on this model, just good old tablet features at a competitive price.
