Twitter will keep Twitpic domain and pictures online as the site closes

The supposed resurrection of Twitpic has officially come to a close. The photo service will be shutting down soon after acquisition plans didn’t fall through. The good news is Twitter will take over the company’s domain and keep the old Twitpic photos online. However, you will not be able to upload new photos. The app has already been taken down from iOS and Android stores. You can still access your account online to delete old photos or export your data.

Twitpic comes back from the dead

Just when Twitpic announced it was going out of business, it would seem the tide has turned. Twitpic has been bought by an unidentified buyer and as they say, the photo sharing service for Twitter lives. The service announced it was shutting down just a few weeks ago because of some legal demands from Twitter. The story is still developing so we’ll keep you posted on any updates.
