Vimeo adds Chromecast support for Android app

It’s a strange thing. Why it took Vimeo almost a year before it brought Chromecast support for its Android app when they released it for their iOS app in February of 2015. Better late than never, we guess. Now, the Android app is at par with iOS app as it’ll let you beam whatever you’re watching on your Chromecast-powered TV or monitor.

Vimeo adds picture-in-picture support for iOS 9

Vimeo updates its app for iOS to add support for iPad's multitasking features. Now, you can use picture-in-picture viewing with it. Of course, you can also tap on the video to bring it back to full screen when you want. The app also now allows you to look for Vimeo videos via Spotlight search. Vimeo also said that Chromecast will work better with this latest update.

Joss Whedon might be busy filming stuff for the Marvel universe but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t take time to pursue his other projects. Following its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the supernatural love story written and produced by Whedon called In Your Eyes will be available internationally to stream on Vimeo for $5. You can rent the movie for a period of 72 hours. Be one of the first to catch this film before it is set to hit theaters in three months’ time.

“It’s exciting for us because we get to explore yet another new form of distribution and we get $5,” Whedon said.

Gmail adds more quick action buttons

Google’s Gmail service has added more functionality to the email app with more quick-action buttons that appear beside the email subject line. Dropbox folder and Google Docs can be accessed through quick actions; Seamless users can rate and review restaurants by clicking the review button; YouTube and Vimeo videos can be opened through the view video button; and OpenTable lets you edit your dinner reservation through your inbox.
