Xbox One focuses on more than games

By Sonya Davidson

The lead up to the release of the new Xbox One last week was exciting gamers got into party mode on the eve of the launch. Literally. Microsoft invites everyone to experience Xbox One

Reminding us how mundane and ordinary some of our lives are, Microsoft has kicked off an invitation to experience Xbox One, at least vicariously through the regular people who are being invited to see what the next gen console and set-top box has to offer. Set to be launched on November 22, Xbox One is being tagged as, "the only all-in-one entertainment system that brings together content loved by gamers, movie buffs, sports fans, and TV lovers, all in one place."

Since then, consoles have evolved into entertainment centers, set top boxes and even musical instruction tools. The next few days will reveal the future of the console as both Microsoft and Sony square off anew to show off their new hardware as well as the games, features and software.  This kicks off today with Microsoft's Xbox event and will continue into E3 with Playstation's unveiling.
