YouTube for iOS gets Material Design refresh and in-app video editing

YouTube has finally brought the Material Design look to its iOS app. It’s also helping out on-the-go vloggers with new in-app video editing tools. It’s easier to look for recommended videos, favorite channels, and subscriptions with the new design. All you need to do is swipe left or right or tap on the new simplified icons. And as mentioned, you can edit your videos on the fly before you upload it on your channel. If you just want to send out a simple video for your followers, you can now do it within the YouTube app.

Peggo converts YouTube and Soundcloud files to audio

Want to just listen to a long interview on YouTube while you do your chores? Peggo brings its app to Android so you can grab those YouTube videos and Soundcloud songs and turn these into audio that you can listen to offline. It’ll normalize the volume of the files you rip so it doesn’t come out too loud or too soft. It also removes the silences so it can cut down the file size and take out those long breaks for you. These files are saved at the highest bitrate possible so you don’t lose the quality. The app’s available in the Amazon App Store or you can grab the APK and sideload it.

Incremental update on YouTube Android app revamps seek bar

YouTube updates its Android app to change the way the seek bar looks. The seek bar is the timeline with a button you can move to skip through parts of the video. With the 10.33 version, the button goes from white to a red ball. The bar seems to be thinner from the previous version as well. User interface-wise, there doesn’t seem to anything else introduced in the latest update. It’s currently available as an APK file over at APK Mirror. If you aren’t comfortable using APK files, the update should probably show up on your Android device soon.

YouTube simplifies navigation menu on Android app

There were 17 different places you go navigate with the previous version of the YouTube app. Now, that’s down to three with the latest update for the Android app. YouTube also included some new creating and editing tools. You can now trim footage, add music, and tint images with filters. The upload button is easier to spot as well. The mobile version of the site also gets this refresh as well. iOS users should expect to see the changes soon.
