Apple final iPod nano and iPod shuffle are now obsolete

Photo: Apple

Apple has added the final iPod nano and iPod shuffle models to its obsolete products list, marking the end of Apple's iconic music players. The company last added new colour options for the seventh-generation iPod nano and fourth-generation iPod shuffle in 2015. And those are the models that are now considered obsolete. Apple discontinued its iPod nano and shuffle line in 2017.

Apple considers products "obsolete" once seven years have passed since they stopped distributing them for sale. When these devices become obsolete, they are no longer eligible for repair at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. (The only exceptions are MacBook battery replacements for up to 10 years.)

'Pixel Watch fully charged' notifications get wider release

If it hasn't made it to you, you can also check through the Bluetooth Quick Settings Tile or the Battery widget on your Pixel phone.

They want to take a more "fluid approach," where it releases products when they're ready. He said we might still expect annual iPhone releases, but everything else might be staggered.

There has been a predictable pattern of Apple releases. (However, the company has started to shift the schedule around in recent years.) But that strategy has taken a toll on the company, too. With the steady increase of products in its portfolio, updating these devices yearly isn't practical and some devices don't even need an annual refresh (like its Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone SE).
