ASUS ROG unveils new Zephyrus Duo 16 dual-screened laptop

Source: ASUS ROG

ASUS's ongoing love affair with dual-screened devices is something we continue to get behind. The newest iteration of the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is another excellent example. This laptop gets a 16-inch main display that comes with two display options and a secondary 14.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of up to 4K.

When we talk about the display options for the primary screen, you get the Nebula HDR QHD-resolution panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 165Hz refresh rate. It has a mini-LED backlight with a peak brightness of 1,100 nits, 100% P3 colour space support, and a DisplayHDR 1000 certification. The other option is a ROG-exclusive Dual Spec panel co-developed with BOE. It allows you to choose between viewing at 4K with a 120Hz refresh rate or 1080p at 240Hz. The discrete graphics bypass the integrated graphics for reduced latency with a MUX switch.

The second screen, a.k.a. the ROG ScreenPad Plus, is a touch panel that rises from the body when you lift the lid. It stops at a 13-degree angle, meeting the bottom of the main display and making it look like one large flowing screen. This form factor makes it easy to see what's on the screen and simultaneously improves this laptop's air circulation.

As a powerful gaming and content creation laptop, you get premium specs across the board. It can get up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX series processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics, 32GB DDR5 memory, and 2TB of PCIe NVMe Gen 4 solid-state storage. There is no official price yet, but you can expect to pay A LOT for this machine. ASUS ROG plans to release the Zephyrus Duo 16 sometime in the first quarter of 2022.
