The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 comes with an 8-inch display next to the keyboard
ASUS isn't the only company with a dual-screened laptop. Lenovo is also bringing another unusually designed laptop to CES. The latest iteration of the experimental ThinkBook Plus line gets a second, notepad-shaped display beside the keyboard.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 pairs its main 17.3-inch IPS 3K display with an 8-inch 800 x 1,280 LCD that has a digitizer layer so you can use a stylus with it. Windows 11 is tweaked to accommodate the additional screen. As Engadget noted, more snap shortcut options are available here that take the second display into account. It has a waterfall mode that cascades the app on the right to the screen below.
It has a whiteboard tool that turns the panel into a notepad or changes it into a digital number pad. Lenovo has a Magic Launcher at the bottom to quickly access these functions. Adobe Lightroom supports this screen, so it turns the screen into a dedicated dashboard for shortcuts or a magnified view of what you're working on.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 runs on a 12-generation Intel Core processor with Xe graphics, up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 69Whr battery. It also has a Full HD IR camera with a privacy shutter, an HDMI socket, Thunderbolt 4 connection, and two USB-A ports. Lenovo plans to launch this device in May, with a starting price of US$1,399 (around CA$1,789 converted).
