Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5: The foldable phone with a bigger and better Flex Window
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 has two major improvements over the Z Flip4: the Flex Hinge and the Flex Window. The Flex Hinge allows the phone to close flat, making it thinner and more durable. It gets rid of that small gap that was still visible in its predecessor.
The new Flex Window is 3.78 times larger than the display on the Z Flip4, enabling more functionality and convenience without unfolding the device. It gives you a 3.4-inch display outside that lets you interact with widgets, access Samsung Wallet, and use the rear cameras for selfies.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 also features a 6.7-inch FHD+ main display. This phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The camera setup includes a 12-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel selfie camera inside. The Flip5 has a 3,700mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. It also has an IPX8 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and dual SIM support.
The phone also uses more recycled materials than its predecessor, such as pre-consumer recycled glass and aluminum. Its packaging is made with recycled materials, too.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is available in four colours: Mint, Lavender, Cream and Graphite. There are also four exclusive colours on Samsung.com: Gray, Blue, Green and Yellow. You can also choose from various cases and accessories for your phone.
It goes on pre-order today and will be available on August 11, with pricing starting at CAD 1,299.
