Galaxy S23 and other flagships to gain AI smarts with One UI 6.1 update

Great news for owners of recent Samsung flagships! The Galaxy AI features that debuted with the Galaxy S24 lineup are rolling out to select phones starting this week. Samsung's promised One UI 6.1 update, bringing Galaxy AI to the forefront, arrives on Thursday, March 28. Included are last year's Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE), the new Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 foldables, and the Galaxy Tab S9 tablets (Ultra, Plus, and Wi-Fi).

Samsung and Maison Margiela launch a new limited-edition Galaxy Z Flip5

Samsung introduces a new limited-edition Galaxy Z Flip5 in collaboration with Maison Margiela, a Paris-based high-end fashion house. This is their second joint project, following the Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela Edition. The new phone, which was leaked earlier, is called the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Maison Margiela Edition. The phone is available in China, Hong Kong, and South Korea, with 512GB of internal storage.

In Korea, it costs KRW 2,497,000 (CA$2,629) and can be purchased through a lottery at Samsung.com. The phone will be displayed in South Korea at Samsung Gangnam and Samsung Store Hongdae from November 23.

Samsung unveils limited-edition Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro

Samsung Electronics is launching the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro, a limited edition phone that pays homage to Samsung's SGH-E700, a mobile phone from 2003. The new device combines indigo blue and silver colours, reinterprets 2000s pixel graphics, and features an exclusive animation on the Flex Window. It will be available in limited quantities in select countries, including Korea, the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, and Australia, exclusively through Samsung’s official website.

Samsung’s mobile chief reveals foldable goals and trends for 2023

Samsung’s mobile chief, TM Roh, has revealed impressive numbers and goals for the company’s foldable phones. According to him, Samsung sold nearly 10 million foldables in 2022, with the Galaxy Z Flip4 being more popular than the Galaxy Z Fold4. For 2023, he expects to sell 15 million foldables, making Samsung the undisputed leader in this segment. Analysts have different estimates for the total foldable market size, ranging from 18 million to over 20 million units. This means that Samsung could capture up to 75% of the foldable market share this year.
