Rebranded Jaguar debuts concept EV

Jaguar conducted a complete brand overhaul to transform from a more traditional car maker to one that aims to offer all-electric luxury vehicles. After it launched its logo redesign last month, we got a quick look at its first concept car under the brand's new "Copy nothing" tagline.

Jaguar debuted the Type 00 concept at Miami Art Week. The automaker describes it as "an example of Jaguar at its best. A fearless statement. An object of desire," and it's designed to encapsulate a new "creative philosophy [of] Exuberant Modernism."

The Jaguar Type 00 is an electric, four-door GT model that has a long front and sloped "fastback" rear. It'll be available in London Blue and Miami Pink with an anticipated launch in late 2025. Jaguar plans to eventually build this electric vehicle in the United Kingdom.

The Jaguar Electric Architecture will power its new models. The production version of the Type 00 is expected to have up to a 430-mile driving range. This EV will charge relatively quickly, promising 200 miles in a 15-minute charge window on a public fast charger. Its interiors feature sliding screens, storage areas with automatic doors, and more. Jaguar has kept the rest of its in-vehicle technology under wraps for now.

As part of its EV-only focus, Jaguar plans to axe its existing lineup and stop production on five of its six electric cars available worldwide.
